Cats

Cats are cute animals that power all of your facilities in the game, cooking soup, juice, and stir-fry to make gold, and resting to produce recipe points. New cats are obtained when you construct a new cooking facility. You can additionally update your existing cats with new skills and breeds using the Observatory special facility.

Rolling Probabilities

All permanent cat breeds have an equal 2.38% (1/42) probability of appearing. Similarly, event-exclusive cats, when available, have the same probability of appearing as any other cat.

Every main skill has an equal 4.347% (1/23) probability of appearing on a cat. There is a 20% (1/5) probability that a sub-skill will appear. All sub-skills have an equal chance of appearing. This gives each sub-skill a relative probability of 3.333%.

Cats with lower stars appear more often than cats with higher stars. The following table summarizes the probabilities for cat stars:

Stars and Happiness

For example, if you had a three star cat with five hearts of happiness assigned to the Chopping Carrots facility for soup, it would apply a 5.00x multiplier to the facility's base sell price. Note that this would also increase the sell price for all other soup dishes.

A cat's happiness can only be increased by feeding them fish. The table below, taken from data crowdsourced in the Discord server, summarizes the total number of fish points and average days of fishing needed to maximize a cat's happiness.

For example, to raise a cat's happiness to 9, you would need to spend on average 72.8 days fishing for the maximum 14 times a day.
